2018 is already shaping up to be a pretty solid year at the movies, but there is a whole lot more to look forward to next year. With that in mind, we’ve pored over the release calendar and scoured the planet for news and details to bring you this list of the most anticipated 2019 movies. Plenty of the upcoming movies are long-anticipated sequels, prequels, and reboots – think Zombieland 2, Dark Phoenix, Toy Story 4, and John Wick: Parabellum – and there are a ton of hotly anticipated remakes, too: The Lion King and Dumbo among them. After the stunning events of Avengers: Infinity War, you might think the Marvel Cinematic Universe is winding down. On the contrary, Marvel Studios continues to plan out new MCU adventures into 2020, and beyond. Since the studio was born from Marvel Comics — the self-proclaimed House of Ideas — the possibilities are truly endless. From prehistoric jungle protectors to a group of Guardians 1,000 years in the future, thousands of characters are still waiting to be discovered as the MCU heads into its fourth and fifth phases.
